Ingredients:
2. star anise - 1 small size
3. clove - 2 buds
4. turmeric - 1/2 tea spoon
5. coriander powder - 1/2 tea spoon
6. garam masala (seasoning) - 1/2 tea spoon
7. red (Kashmiri) chilly powder - 1 tea spoon
8. salt - to taste
9. cooked (boiled) rice - as per requirement
10. onion (chopped) - 1 medium bulblet
11. tomato (chopped) - 1 medium size
12. garlic (julienned-long thin strips) - 3 cloves
13. cottage cheese cubes (paneer) - 50 gms
14. cooking or refined oil - 2 table spoons
15. coriander leaves - 1 stalk
16. water - 1 small cup
Procedure:
1. heat 2 table spoons cooking or refined oil in a pan
2. add the following ingredients:
a. 2 clove buds
b. 1 small star anise
c. 1 bay leaf
d. 3 garlic cloves (julienned)
3. fry for 1 minute
4. add 1 medium onion (chopped)
5. toss it well for a minute
6. add the remaining ingredients:
a. 1/2 tea spoon coriander powder
b. 1 tea spoon (Kashmiri) red chilly powder
c. 1/2 tea spoon turmeric
d. 1/2 tea spoon garam masala
e. 1 medium tomato (chopped)
f. a pinch of salt
g. 1/2 small cup water
h. 50 gms cottage cheese cubes (paneer)
7. toss the mixture well, and cook it for 2-3 minutes
8. add cooked (boiled) rice
9. add little salt
10. stir the dish carefully
11. sprinkle 1/2 small cup water
12. cover the pan for 1 minute
13. put off the flame, and plate the biryani
14. garnish it with coriander leaves
15. serve it with coriander-mint chutney and lime slice
